Umm an-Nar Period

Small Jar

Small jars are a typical grave good of the Umm an-Nar period. They were made from avery fine clay and have been fired by high temperatures. Originally these vessels were slipped in a red colour and had a pattern painted in black, forming the term "Black on Red Ware".
